How donations
are used
We rely mainly on unpaid volunteer work, and our administrative overhead is low. During 2007, we raised about $20,000 and we spent almost all of it on FOLF programs.
We need to work actively to influence public policy and to build public support for maintaining off-leash recreation at Its Beach and Lighthouse Field. This involves political organizing, public education, special events and other activities. Your contributions make this possible.
Past contributions have allowed us to retain an attorney to help represent your interests in court. We're focused on a negotiated solution, but we need to be ready with more legal defense.
Finally, we've made a proposal to help the City of Santa Cruz recover some of its costs to acquire Lighthouse Field from California State Parks. That hasn't happened yet, but when it does and the fight to preserve off-leash recreation is over, we'll take any left over contributions and apply them to this on-going program.

Preserving off-leash recreation at Its Beach and Lighthouse Field continues to be a long and costly effort. We have made a lot of progress thanks to people like you.
Remember: This is for you!
Your contribution will be used to support our efforts to defend off-leash recreation. This may include legal defense, political organizing, public education, special events and park stewardship. Once off-leash recreation has been permanently preserved, we'll devote our funds towards programs to maintain and enhance the park experience.
